This reviewer was totally captivated by this story. Mrs. Rose leads her readers into an historical setting where the characters are very real and Jackie Rose exposes the story of Simon Legree with wit and charm. It is written from the view point of Mr. Legree himself and the reader will certainly chuckle as he shares his thoughts and gripes about Harriet Beecher Stowe. The sex scenes are very well written and Emily is a woman who enjoys being the submissive. Secondary characters add charm and bring the story to life. The plot will keep the reader turning the cyber pages and this was one story this reviewer could not put down. Ms. Rose has written a story that is sure to entertain her readers and this reviewer enjoyed it very much.

I'm a Senior…and I'm Savage was an entertaining story. It was easy to picture the elderly ladies typing their passionate, sexy story on-line to an anonymous man. Their story was spicy and racy, even for someone in an assisted living home. Adele and Lucille have very active imaginations. Lucille was a great character. She was spunky and not your typical "old lady." Adele could tell a hot, sexy story better than most young women. When they find out who Carl the Conqueror is, it was hilarious. Jackie Rose makes us wonder what really goes on at the retirement homes in our communities. Maybe it's time to do a little volunteer work at the nearest retirement village.

Very original storyline. I liked the way the story reveals that seniors still have sexual thoughts and feelings. I also like the way it showed there was no harm in their enjoying their fantasies, and it also seems realistic. There wasn’t a lot of romance, although it is entertaining. The characters were engaging and well-rounded considering the length of the story. The sex is fun.

Rose's aunt Adele, a retired social worker, lives in an assisted living environment, but her mind is still extremely active. Adele used her niece Rose's first book as a springboard into an online fan-fiction chat room, where she and several others participate in role-playing based on Rose's Viking and Vixen characters.

When one of the other residents, Lucille, is distraught because her birthday is upcoming and her five children and many grandchildren are going on a skiing vacation excluding her, Adele steps in and introduces Lucille to the wonders of online Vikingandvixenland, much to the dismay of the adult offspring.

"I'm A Senior..and I'm Savage" is laugh-out-loud hilarity, with that subtle touch of compassion for the individuals resigned to living out their Golden Years in the not-so-golden assisted living home.

Jackie Rose knows how to tug the reader's heartstrings simultaneously with drawing out a tear of sympathy, at the plights and foibles of these endearing characters. This reviewer definitely plans to seek out the first book in this series {I'm A Viking and I Protest} and to anticipate many more installments. This one is highly recommended.

"I really enjoyed this romp..."

When Lucille is caught by her daughter Donna trying to sign off of the Viking and Vixens role playing site, she goes directly to the director's office demanding internet access be cut. The results are that most of the retirement home residents mope around, disinterested, and disappointed. Can this problem be resolved?

Ms. Rose has written a humorous glimpse into the life of senior citizens. Adele's character shows she is still a vibrant woman, and that being old does not mean dead. Her friends, George and Lucille, through their online associations, prove that the body may be unable, but the mind is still very active. I really enjoyed this romp through the senior center. It was quite funny.

As a French army captain in Lally's Irish regiment (during Bonnie Prince Charlie's revolt), Captain O'Neill is protected under the rules of the Cartel of Frankfort, and cannot be tried for treason. He can, however, be forced to reside as a disgruntled "guest" under the roof of his enemy. General Hawley, a suitor for Mary's hand, is intent on getting information about Bonnie Prince Charlie's whereabouts from his most fanatical supporter: Captain Francis O'Neill. And he will use the lovely Lady Mary to do it..a plan which Francis is quick to anticipate and manipulate to his own advantage.

The love scenes are nicely heated and add some piquant spice. "Priggish" Mary, on the other hand, is intrigued by Captain O'Neill against her better judgment. She can't trust his blandishments or exaggerated stories of derring-do. Once the Englishmen of her acquaintance start to show their true colors, however, her loyalties begin to shift and she gives her attraction to Francis free, glorious rein. ...but will this handsome Irish rebel end up swinging from the gallows, anyway?

Jackie Rose certainly seems to know her history. Inspired by real-life historical figure, Captain Francis O'Neill, "Rebel Rogue" is a thirty-thousand-plus words novella that is rich in historical detail (both real and imagined, I believe) and textured with realistic minutiae of the times.

Ms. Rose's novella for EXtasy Books is a grand, rip-roaring, historical drama, however, and has a larger-than-life, heroic feel to it that will catapult readers into the eighteenth century and the life and times of a loyal-to-the-death Irish rebel.

There is more to come in this series as one of the vampire brides makes her mark in America, and I have no doubts hilarity will ensue! Bravo!

EXCERPT: (This particular Vamper-cize session is going on while the instructor’s Master, Count Victor Vyrdelek is trying to lure his fifth bride into his web…and vice versa...in I’m a Vampire and I Count.)

Ylenia was doing nothing to restore the traditional atmosphere.

Since the dancer knew she could not find a cottage, however colorful, with a dance floor—and since the only other option was the basement of the local church, which, for obvious reasons, was out of the question—she had set up her studio in the castle ballroom.

The count and his newest countess were therefore treated to the constant thumping of feet on the wooden floor overhead, accompanied by a merry organ medley of showtunes and Ylenia’s encouraging cries.

They could not escape to a quieter room, since the count chose to stay up here in the family area during the tourist hours. One encounter with the visitors in the Hall of Armor had been enough. They had all run after him begging for autographs, until he had taken refuge in the burial vaults downstairs. That was not open to tourists either, although Tiffany kept urging a special program for Halloween.

“Two forward, two backwards, two to each side,” they now heard Ylenia announcing. “Weak backs, you can step instead of jumping. Then swing your hips in a circle—but slowly, seductively, please. Remember, this is Vamper-cize.”

“Vamper-cize!” Count Victor exclaimed, wincing as fifty feet struck the floor above him. “And Crina and Nadia are both so busy, they don’t even think about luring unwary travelers any more.”

“Well, Crina might lure them into paying too much for houses,” Tiffany pointed out. “And Nadia might convince them to get their hair cut too short.”

“It isn’t the same! And how are we to win recruits when my brides are coming out of their coffins to sell houses or comb hair or,” he shuddered, “lead dance exercise classes, instead of giving unwary travelers the dark kiss?”

“Actually, I’d been thinking about that,” she said, leaning forward eagerly in a way that made him draw back instinctively in alarm, fearing that yet another Campaign was in the works.

To find out exactly how many undead voters reside in Ohio, she seeks the help of Count Victor Vyrdelek, a master who has been watching over their fellow vampires for 600 years. He summons her to his castle in Romania to show her how a real vampire enjoys the afterlife, by making her one of his brides. However, Tiffany has plans of her own and winds up turning their little village upside-down with another campaign.

The subplot with Ingrid, a vegetarian were-Maltese and Constantin, the alpha male of his werewolf pack and Vyrdelek's "watch wolf" is cute and amusing. This is a tale of two modern girls who come in and drive their very traditional men into a tailspin. It makes for a nice modern-day comment. Well done, Ms. Rose. I loved the book: too cute!

Count Victor is displeased that Tiffany is not holding to time- honored vampiric tradition - what she terms hopeless stereotypes. He is determined to bring her into his fold of ‘brides’ and teach her how to be a proper vampire seductress, not a political activist.

We cannot forget the werewolf Constantin Lupinski’s adventures with PUMA representative, Ingrid Foha. In order for PUMA to represent the werewolves she has to convince Constantin to become a vegetarian, at least while in human form.

Ms. Rose has once again delivered a humorous look into what is usually considered a serious fantasy subject. Tiffany Golden is fighting vampire stereotypes one bloody plastic fang at a time. Ms. Rose has not only broken out the vampires, she has added in werewolves. PUMA has decided to back the prevention of killing werewolves. This book will have you holding your sides with laughter. Tiffany is such a determined person that even eons of tradition do not stand a chance against her one-track mind. I have to mention the were- Maltese and the werewolf; that segment of the story is not to be missed. The addition of the PUMA-protected werewolves opens an opportunity for subsequent forays into Ms. Rose’s faultless flights of fancy.

A delightful and hilarious read! Tiffany Golden meets Count Victor Vyrdelek and his four "Rockette" brides and proceeds to offend his Old World sensibilities with her New World mentality and philosophy.

Throw in a werewolf Alpha who eats vegetarian dog kibble in deference to his animal rights activist human/were-Maltese mate and you've got all your civilian rights and emancipated issues of modern society covered.

At the end of the book we learn so much about compromises and courage and the importance of tradition and modern influences in life. There are no real villains and no real heroes here. Everyone gets their say and their turn in this story. Unlike many opinionated authors or books this book is really so lighthearted and cynically comical that you can't help but ponder about the addressed issues.

Jackie Rose has penned another winner. This book is a satirical delight, poking fun at politics, male-female relationships, PETA, and vampire stereotypes alike with equal glee and hilarity. I was especially fond of the moment when Tiffany, now the Count's OFFICIAL wife, fends off an amorous president with the threat of using her hypnotic gaze and forcing him to do something really stupid --"like touching Social security." The Count, the perfect vampire from his white tie and tails to his pearly white fangs, proves to be darned sexy under his Lugosi duds, and watching his four vampettes find meaning in something other than intoning his words of wisdom is wonderful silly fun, as the Count realizes that this is no longer the fifteenth century any more. Ingrid the vegetarian were Maltese is a charmer as she tries to convince the wolf pack that veggie dog chow is a terrific substitute for hunting the Count's wildlife. But my favorite character is the President's wronged wife, who uses her witchy powers (she informs him she's witch, not a Wiccan; religion-wise, she's an Episcopalian) to do to her straying husband what Hillary (whom she closely resembles) should have done to Bill.

"This was a great story."

Jackie Rose writes an engaging story dealing with the issues of voting and minorities. This was a great story and one I'd like to see more of by her. I like this more upbeat, yet dark inspired storyline. The ending was something not totally unexpected, but the twist she gives it, all in the name of politics, Ms. Rose has done a great job with this Tarot story and I'd like to see further stories like this from her. This definitely shows off her style as well as her sense of humour to an engaging light.

What an original story line for Ms. Rose to write. Who else would have thought of a story involving politics and vampires so intertwined? Tiffany is strong-willed, not wanting to give up on her volunteer mission of bringing a strong liberal candidate into the presidency (after becoming a vampire). Of course it sure doesn’t hurt that Sen. O’Neill is incredibly gorgeous and sexy as sin, likely to liven up the White House in more ways than one.

George Zagorsky, the vampire who sired Tiffany, is hilarious in his efforts to be the stereotypical vampire of classic horror movies, emulating Bela Lugosi. Then there’s Tim Johnson, the gorgeous model whose career had taken a tumble when he was converted to being a vampire, until… Each character adds an interesting new dimension to the story, bringing humor to the plot and amusing readers through to the end.

Reviews for Warrior's Captive : I, Briseis:

“An incredibly beautiful story that is a definite must-read.”

Reviewed by: Gina
For: Love Romances

This incredibly talented author brings to life the sights, sounds, smells and pains of the battlefield, as well as the joys a woman in love will know. We need only close our eyes to see the events as they unfold on the pages of Warrior’s Captive. As Achilles grieves the loss of his friend and cousin Patrocles and descends into madness, this reviewer felt she was beside Briseis in her battle to return him to sanity. This reviewer cried when Briseis gave birth and was not even allowed to see her child as he is ripped from her. Her dreams of being with Achilles again offer the feeling that he transcended time and space to return to her. Each character is so exceedingly well drawn, we feel we are part of the court intrigues. The love between Achilles and Briseis is hauntingly palpable.

This reviewer had a very difficult time putting this book down. The characters are so vividly drawn, it felt as though they were alive and present. Warrior’s Captive is one of those stories that the reader will want to read over and over. An incredibly beautiful story that is a definite must-read.

This story, based partly on mythology and partly on history, brings together a captive slave girl, Briseis and the warrior demi-god, Achilles. I truly enjoyed it. Overall, Jackie Rose has done a great job with her unique twist on mythology in Warrior's Captive, and I will definitely be looking for more of her work in the future.

If there ever was a good moment to publish an alternate story on Troy, shortly after the release of the blockbuster "Troy," this must be it. "I, Briseis," however, is so far ahead of Hollywood drivel that it is not at all fair to compare the two. The author combines the snippets that are considered common knowledge and weaves them into a delightful read.

Wow! I downloaded your ebook last night. My cat was happy because I don't usually sit still that long and she's a lap hog. You do a great job with the setting. I like your style. I'm looking forward to your next book.
